Soil
Located on one of the most iconic hills of Sancerre, “Les Monts Damnés” majestically overlooks the village of Chavignol. This exceptional terroir is composed of limestone soils, known as “Terres Blanches,” which give the wine structure and minerality.
Vinification
Hand-picked and carefully sorted in the vineyard, the grapes are carefully transported to the winery to preserve the integrity of the bunches. After gentle pneumatic pressing, the must is cold settled to preserve the aromatic purity of the Sauvignon Blanc. Fermentation takes place in 228- and 500-litre French oak barrels, with a small proportion of new barrels, thus limiting the impact of the wood. The wine is aged for 12 months, bringing complexity and harmony to the cuvée.
Features
The wine shows a pale yellow colour with golden highlights. The nose, complex and expressive, opens with notes of citrus, such as lemon and grapefruit, as well as stone fruits like apricot and peach, enhanced by a delicate toasted and spicy touch from barrel ageing. On the palate, the wine offers a beautiful balance between roundness and freshness. The citrus aromas evolve into a subtle minerality, supported by a long, gently oaked finish. Altogether, this reveals an elegant and profound wine.

Perfect when paired with seared scallops, a supreme of poultry, or the traditional Crottin de Chavignol.
Ageing potential
Our Sancerre Blanc “Les Monts Damnés” reaches its peak 12 to 24 months after harvest and will provide enjoyment throughout its ageing, which can range from 4 to 10 years depending on the vintage and storage conditions.
